What you'll learn
You'll learn the skills and gain the knowledge required by people working in flooring preparation.
This qualification covers:
Core compulsory
- evaluating substrate surfaces for flooring operations,
- evaluating floor substrate for surface preparation operations,
- completing basic flooring substrate preparation.
Electives - you must choose at least 1 of the following strands that cover what you'll be doing on-the-job:
Mechanical preparation
- Mechanically preparing complex timber and concrete flooring substrates
- Will include mechanically preparing internal and external corners and falls for wet areas.
Moisture treatment systems
- Consistently applying moisture control systems
- Application of moisture control systems
Underlayment Systems
- Applying bulk filling and self-levelling cementitious underlayment
- Prepare and install board underlayment
