Graduation - West Auckland 2025

Thirty newly qualified tradespeople were honored at the BCITO Apprentice Graduation ceremony held at North Harbour Netball Centre on March 4th.

The evening celebration recognised graduates from across West Auckland, including Te Atatu, Kelston, New Lynn, and parts of Kaipara Ki Mahurangi and Upper Harbour. Family members, employers, and industry representatives gathered to acknowledge the hard work and dedication these apprentices have demonstrated throughout their training journey.

Tony Bruce, BCITO Regional Manager, presided over the ceremony which began at 6:15 pm. "Tonight represents years of commitment from these graduates. They've balanced on-the-job training with their studies, pushing through challenges to reach this significant milestone," Bruce said during his address.

The graduation marks the successful completion of various building and construction qualifications, with graduates now fully certified in their respective trades including carpentry, tiling, plastering, painting and decorating, and concrete construction.

"These qualifications aren't just pieces of paper – they represent industry-recognised skills that will serve these tradespeople throughout their careers," added Bruce. "West Auckland's construction sector is stronger today because of the talent graduating this evening."
